Valentin Staller, Men's Fencing
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Harvard fencing’s
Valentin Staller has been named the Harvard COOP Athlete of the
Week for March 26. Staller, who was one of six Harvard fencers to
garner All-America honors, placed second at the NCAA Championships
in Columbus, Ohio. The Old Field, N.Y., native defeated No. 1 seed
Max Stearns from Ohio State to make the final, after qualifying for
the semifinals by placing in the top four. Staller fell to Penn
State’s Aleksander Ochocki, 15-11, in the title bout. The
senior had a +22 scoring differential throughout the
tournament.
