CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Laura Bellamy of the women's ice hockey team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Jan. 14.
Bellamy recorded her 18th career shutout and fourth of the season Friday night in a 4-0 win over Princeton. She made 20 saves to extend her scoreless streak to over 100 minutes for the third time this season.
Bellamy leads the nation in goals-against average (.52) and save percentage (.972) for the No. 3 Crimson (13-1-1, 11-0-0). After hosting UConn Tuesday night, the Crimson entertains RPI and Union this weekend at Bright Hockey Center.
