CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s lightweight crew has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for June 3.
The Crimson repeated as national champions over the weekend, winning its second straight IRA crown and ninth overall on Lake Natoma, to remain undefeated. Harvard took command early in the race, taking the lead at the 500-meter mark and steadily increasing it before holding off a hard-charging Yale to win with a time of 5:54.221, just over one second ahead of the Bulldogs.
In addition to winning the varsity eight race, the lightweight four race was also won by the Crimson to make it a clean sweep of the day’s regattas.
