      <title>Denis Nguyen, Men's Tennis</title>

      <description>Denis Nguyen of the men&#x2019;s tennis team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for May 13.&#xD;
The sophomore helped the men&#x2019;s tennis team reach the round of 32 in the NCAA tournament. In the opener against Sanford, Nguyen topped Zac Dunkle, 6-3, 6-4, to earn Harvard&#x2019;s first point en route to a dominant 4-0 win over the Bulldogs. In the second round against Mississippi State, Nguyen teamed with Casey MacMaster to earn a win over the No. 13 doubles tandem in the country. The two teams held serve for the first 12 games before the Crimson earned a break to go on to win 8-6. &#xD;
No. 27 Harvard finished the year 19-6 overall and won the Ivy League title for the second straight year.&#xD;

      <title>Radcliffe Lightweight Crew V8</title>

      <description>The Harvard-Radcliffe lightweight crew varsity eight has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for May 6.&#xD;
&#xD;
The top-ranked Black and White cruised to a win in the EAWRC Sprint May 5 for the first time since 2004. Radcliffe dominated from the start, opening up a lead by the 500-meter mark en route to a time of 7:17.823 on the Cooper River. The win was 8.259 seconds faster than second place Princeton, which was the largest margin of victory in the first varsity race since 1996. &#xD;
&#xD;
The win also helped Harvard secure the Konrad Ulbrich Points Trophy, given to the team with the best overall performance. It is the first time in the seven-year history of the award that Wisconsin did not capture the crown. &#xD;
&#xD;
Radcliffe will be off until May 30 when it heads to Sacramento, Calif., for the IRA National Championships.</description>

      <title>Harvard Lightweight Crew V8</title>

      <description>The Harvard lightweight crew varsity eight has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for April 29. &#xD;
The Crimson bested No. 2 Yale and No. 6 Princeton to earn the Goldthwait Cup Saturday morning. Harvard, which saw Yale jump out to an early lead, steadily gained water on the Bulldogs before pulling ahead. The Crimson would go on to win by a half length, finishing in 5:51.0 to Yale&#x2019;s time of 5:52.4. &#xD;
The victory by the Crimson was its fourth consecutive Goldthwait Cup, and it also helped secure the Vogel Cup, given to the top team performer in the HYP race, for the eighth time in the last 11 years.</description>

      <title>Amy He, Women's Tennis</title>

      <description>Freshman women&#x2019;s tennis player Amy He has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for April 22. &#xD;
He earned the clinching victory in Harvard&#x2019;s 5-2 victory over No. 35 Yale this past weekend. The freshman rallied multiple times in her match at second singles against Madeleine Hamilton. After dropping the first set, 6-4, she prevailed, 6-1, to force a decisive third. In the final set, He found herself trailing 5-4 and 6-5, but she managed to win the ensuing game both times to continue the match and force a tiebreak. Hamilton had two match points during the tiebreak; however, He won three straight points to win the third set 7-6(7) and give the Crimson its first win against the Bulldogs in three meetings.&#xD;
On the season, He is 11-3 in dual action and 15-8 overall. She has compiled an 8-3 record at the second position to help the Crimson to an 11-6 mark with two matches remaining.</description>

      <title>Radcliffe Heavyweight Crew</title>

      <description>The Harvard-Radcliffe heavyweight crew has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for April 15. &#xD;
The No. 11 Black and White claimed the Class of 1975 Cup in Itacha, N.Y., Saturday, topping No. 5 Princeton and No. 17 Cornell at the regatta. Radcliffe and the Tigers were neck-and-neck the entire way before the Black and White pulled away down the stretch  to earn a 2.2-second victory with a time of 6:11.7. It is the 12th time in program history that Harvard has won the cup.&#xD;
In the Varsity Four &#x2018;A&#x2019; race, Radcliffe also prevailed, topping Princeton by nearly five seconds with a time of 7:11.3 to earn the win. &#xD;
The Black and White returns to action Saturday against Syracuse and Dartmouth with the O&#x2019;Leary Cup on the line.</description>

      <description>Men's tennis senior co-captain Andy Nguyen has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for April 8. &#xD;
Nguyen went 4-0 last week, earning a pair of singles and doubles victories to help Harvard begin Ivy League play 2-0. In a contest against No. 40 Columbia, Nguyen paired with Nicky Hu to top Dragos Ignat and Bert Vancura, 8-4, at No. 2 and clinch the doubles point for Harvard. Then, with the match tied at three, the Phoenix, Ariz., native rallied past Max Schnur, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, to give the Crimson the victory. &#xD;
On Sunday, he paired with Hu again for another 8-4 victory, this time over Jason Luu and Quoc-Daniel Nguyen at No. 2. Nguyen then breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Cornell's Nguyen en route to a 6-1 triumph against the Big Red. &#xD;
Harvard's senior co-captain paces the squad with a 20-6 mark this year, including a 13-2 record in singles play. &#xD;
The Crimson travels to Princeton and Penn this weekend before returning home April 19 to face off with Brown in the final home match of the season.</description>

      <description>Murphy Vandervelde of the men&#x2019;s lacrosse team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for April 1. &#xD;
The sophomore registered the first two hat tricks of his career in a pair of contests against Albany and No. 10/12 Duke. In the Tuesday night contest against the Great Danes, Vandervelde tallied three scores to register his first three-goal game in college on just five shots. He replicated his feat on national television Saturday night against the Blue Devils, finding the back of the net three more times on just five attempts to pace the Harvard offense. &#xD;
On the year, the Wellesley, Mass., native has totaled seven goals and three ground balls.</description>

      <description>Amanda Lin of the women&#x2019;s tennis team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for March 25.&#xD;
Lin went 6-0 last week, posting identical 3-0 marks in both singles and doubles play. In the first match of the week, she teamed with Sylvia Li to defeat Diana Bukajeva and Jen Miller, 8-1, in second doubles before besting Jen Miller, 6-0, 6-3, at the No. 5 singles in a 5-2 win over Stetson. She followed up her performance with another doubles win with Li over Fanny Fracassi and Paula Montoya by another 8-1 score before rallying past Alessandra Bonte, 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-4, in sixth singles in a 4-3 loss to the Bulls. In the final match of the week against Fairleigh Dickinson, the freshman teamed with Li for an 8-0 win over Dina Guzairova and Manuela Leme and knocked off Dina Guzairova, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 4 singles. &#xD;
On the year, Lin leads the team with an 18-3 record, including an 8-1 mark in the dual season. She also paces the team with 13 doubles wins with her partner Li.</description>

      <description>Katherine Lantz of the softball team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for March 18. &#xD;
Lantz hit .500 (8-16) in five games over the weekend to help the Crimson post a 2-3 record at the San Diego Classic II tournament. She finished the event with two doubles, a home run, six RBI and two runs scored. In the team&#x2019;s 7-2 win over Miami (Ohio), she belted a two-run homer that broke the game open, and she scored the game-tying run in Harvard&#x2019;s eventual 4-3 triumph against Colorado State.&#xD;
On the year, the sophomore infielder tops the Crimson in doubles (3), runs (9)and RBI (9) and is tied for the team lead in hits (15) and home runs (2).</description>

      <description>Sophomore Mike Mosca of men&#x2019;s swimming and diving has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for March 12. &#xD;
&#xD;
Mosca was a dual winner at the Ivy League championships, winning both the one- and three-meter diving events with high scores in the current scoring system to earn the Karl B. Michael High Point Diver of the Meet award. He broke his own school record and also established a new pool record in the one-meter diving competition with a score of 387.05 to take the event for the second consecutive year and outscore his closest competition by almost 40 points. In the three-meter competition, he scored 409.85 points to distance himself from his nearest competitor by 37 points.</description>

      <description>For the second time this year, freshman Emerance Maschmeyer has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week.&#xD;
In the ECAC quarterfinal series against Dartmouth, Maschmeyer recorded back-to-back shutouts to lift the Crimson into the tournament semifinals. She made 21 saves against the Big Green Friday night to give Harvard a 1-0 lead in the series. The Alberta native turned away 18 more shots the next day in a 4-0 win to send the third-seeded Crimson on to the semifinals Saturday against Clarkson at 4 p.m. in Ithaca, N.Y. &#xD;
In 17 starts this season, Maschmeyer has recorded an 11-4-2 mark with a .939 save percentage and a 1.27 goals-against average.</description>

      <description>Adabelle Ekechukwu of the women&#x2019;s track and field teamhas been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Feb. 25. &#xD;
Ekechukwu was named the women&#x2019;s field Most Outstanding Performer at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships after setting the Ancient Eight record for the women&#x2019;s weight throw and helping the women win their first Ivy title since 2000.&#xD;
The junior broke her own mark on her final throw of the event, tossing the weight 20.83 meters (68-4.25 feet) to improve upon her throw of 20.11 meters at the HYP meet earlier this month. In addition to being an Ancient Eight record, it was also a meet record and school record. &#xD;

      <description>The Harvard women&#x2019;s squash team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Feb. 18.&#xD;
The Crimson won the 14th national title in school history, keeping the Howe Cup in Cambridge for the second straight year by defeating Trinity, 5-4, Sunday afternoon at Yale. No. 1 Amanda Sobhy earned the clinching win for Harvard, while Haley Mendez, Saumya Karki, Natasha Kingshott and Megan Murray all earned victories in the championship match, as well. &#xD;
En route to the finals, the Crimson blanked Stanford, 9-0, and topped Ivy League rival Penn, 6-3, to claim the third championship in four years.</description>

      <description>Victoria Lippert of the women&#x2019;s basketball team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Feb. 11.&#xD;
The senior poured in 19 points after the intermission, including six in overtime, to lift the Crimson past Cornell, 69-60, Sunday.  The San Diego, Calif., native missed her first four shots of the game but rebounded to connect on her first five attempts after halftime. In the extra session, she made one field goal and hit four free throws to help the Crimson improve to 13-6 overall and 4-1 in the Ivy League.&#xD;
On the year, Lippert ranks second on the team in scoring with 12.5 points per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the floor. &#xD;
The Crimson visits Penn and Princeton this weekend at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday night.</description>

      <description>Oliver Lee of the men&#x2019;s swimming and diving team has been voted the COOP Athlete of the Week for Feb. 4. &#xD;
Lee won a pair of individual events and was a part of three other relay teams that took the top spot in the annual HYP meet to help the Crimson secure an Ivy League dual meet title in 2013. In each of the five races, Lee or Lee and his relay pairing met NCAA &#x2018;B&#x2019; qualification standards. &#xD;
The junior set the school record in the 50 freestyle, breaking teammate Chris Satterthwaite&#x2019;s mark, with a time of 19.76, which is also the 10th best mark in the NCAA this year. He also established a new personal best in the 100 freestyle with the 10th best time in the NCAA this year, swimming the distance in 43.29 seconds.  &#xD;
The government concentrator was a member of the 200 freestyle relay team that set a new school record of 1:18.71 and the 200 individual medley relay that established a new top mark in Crimson annals with a time of 1:27.18. The Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y., native concluded the weekend by helping the 400-freestyle relay team post the second-best time in school history, touching the wall in 2:55.24.</description>

The freshman established a Rolfs Aquatic Center record with a time of 3:52.34, setting a new personal best and eclipsing the NCAA &#x2018;B&#x2019; standard to take first place in the event. He also established a new personal record in the 200 fly, winning the event with a time of 1:48.29.&#xD;
Harvard heads to Princeton this weekend for the annual HYP meet Feb. 2-3.</description>

      <description>Water Peppelman of the wrestling team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Jan. 21.&#xD;
Peppelman became just the seventh wrestler in Harvard history to reach 100 career wins after posting a pair of victories over the weekend. On Saturday, the senior trimmed Cornell&#x2019;s Jesse Shanaman, 1-0, to record his 99th career victory. He followed up his performance on Sunday with a dramatic 4-2 win in the first sudden-victory period over No. 17 Scott Winston of Rutgers, 4-2, to join the exclusive club.&#xD;
The Harrisburg, Pa., native is 8-2 on the year, including a perfect 6-0 mark in duals for the Crimson. &#xD;
Harvard hits the road this weekend for a dual against Army Sunday afternoon.</description>

      <description>Laura Bellamy of the women&#x2019;s ice hockey team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Jan. 14.&#xD;
Bellamy recorded her 18th career shutout and fourth of the season Friday night in a 4-0 win over Princeton. She made 20 saves to extend her scoreless streak to over 100 minutes for the third time this season.&#xD;
Bellamy leads the nation in goals-against average (.52) and save percentage (.972) for the No. 3 Crimson. After hosting UConn Tuesday night, the Crimson entertains RPI and Union this weekend at Bright Hockey Center.</description>

      <description>Christine Clark of the women&#x2019;s basketball team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Jan. 7. Clark averaged 20.0 points per game and shot 51.7 percent from the floor in a pair of victories for the Crimson last week. The junior became the 18th member of Harvard's 1,000-point club on Wednesday against UMass as she scored 19 points to go along with four assists and two steals. She then turned in her third 20-point performance of the season with 21 points at Rhode Island, including nine of the team's final 16 points to secure the victory.</description>

      <description>Laurent Rivard of the men's basketball team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Dec. 31. The 6-5 junior poured in a season-high 19 points, including 5-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc, and grabbed five rebounds to lift the Crimson past California, 67-62, Saturday night. On the season, Rivard is averaging 10.5 points per game and shooting 41.6 percent from three.</description>

      <description>Siyani Chambers of the men&#x2019;s basketball team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Dec. 24. The freshman had 14 points, five assists and two steals while playing all 40 minutes in the Crimson&#x2019;s 72-65 win over Holy Cross.&#xD;

On the year, the Minnesota native is averaging 12.1 points to rank second on the team and 5.1 assists to top the Ivy League. He is also shooting 92.5 percent from the free-throw line, including a streak of 32 consecutive made, which also leads the Ancient Eight.</description>

      <description>Katherine Chou of the women&#x2019;s fencing team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Dec. 10. Chou went undefeated in foil, winning all three of her bouts, and did not allow a single touch against as the Crimson topped Tufts, 26-1, Friday night. The women are now 5-1 on the season and will return to action on Jan. 26 with matches against Columbia, St. John&#x2019;s, Penn State, Notre Dame and Ohio State in Queens, N.Y.</description>

      <description>Sophomore Chuck Katis has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Dec. 3. The Falls Church, Va. Native won the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke events at the University of Georgia Fall Invitational against some of the nation&#x2019;s top teams. Katis also set school records in both events, swimming a 1:54.08 in the 200 and a 52.49 in the 100 to establish new marks and reach NCAA &#x2018;A&#x2019; standards to qualify for the 2013 national championships in both events. His time in the 200 is also the third fastest time in the country this year.</description>

On Friday, Dempsey tallied two assists to help Harvard knock off Colgate, 4-1. She followed up her performance with a goal and an assist in a 3-1 upset of No. 2 Cornell to extend her point streak to a career-high 21 games.</description>

      <description>The Harvard men&#x2019;s lightweight eight has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for Oct. 23. At the Head of the Charles, the lightweight eights won its race in 14:35.71, almost 12 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor, USRowing, and well ahead of Ivy competitors Princeton (3rd, 14:58) and Yale (4th,14:59.70) . The win was Harvard&#x2019;s 41st overall medal at the Head of the Charles, first in the lightweight eights since 1975, sixth in the race all-time, and it also propelled Harvard to the Point Trophy.</description>
