CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore goalkeeper Evan Mendez of the men’s soccer team has been named the COOP Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 4.
The Ballston Spa, N.Y., native helped his team down Dartmouth, 2-1, on Saturday night at Soldiers Field Soccer Stadium to improve to 5-7-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play. Mendez registered two saves while remaining undefeated between the pipes with a 5-0 record. It marks the second-straight win for Harvard and the fourth-consecutive victory in Ancient Eight play.
The last time men’s soccer won the award was Sept. 7, 2010 when Brian Rogers took home the honor.
The Crimson returns to action Wed. Nov. 6, at Holy Cross for a midweek matchup.
