Ben Schumacher joined Harvard in January, 2011 as an assistant director of strength & conditioning.
Schumacher oversees the design and implementation for nine of Harvard’s 41 varsity athletic programs and coordinates the department’s internship program.
Schumacher came to Harvard after completing a graduate assistantship at Northwest Missouri State University where he completed a master’s degree in applied health science. While at NMSU, Schumacher worked with the school’s baseball, volleyball, men’s and women’s tennis and women’s golf programs.
Previously, Schumacher served internship with the University of Nebraska and University of Iowa football programs while also working for two years with Velocity Sports Performance.
A football team captain and three-time all-conference defensive end, Schumacher graduated from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minn. in 2008 with a degree in exercise science.
