Coaches may make telephone calls to high school students starting July 1 following a prospect’s junior year. In swimming & diving, coaches may call prospects once per week. In cross country/track & field, coaches may call prospects once per week outside of a contact period and unlimited during a contact period.
  • In football, coaches may send electronic communication (email and fax only) and communication via the postal service starting September 1 of a prospect’s junior year. Coaches may make telephone calls to prospects one time from April 15-May 31 of a prospects junior year. Coaches may not make additional telephone calls to high school students until September 1 of a prospect’s senior year. Coaches may call prospects once per week outside of a contact period and unlimited during a contact period.
  • In men’s basketball, coaches may send electronic communication (texts, email, Twitter direct message, Facebook messenger, etc.) and communication via the postal service starting June 15 following a prospect’s sophomore year. This is also the date in which coaches may make unlimited telephone calls to high schools students.
  • In women’s basketball, coaches may send electronic communication (texts, email, Twitter direct message, Facebook messenger, etc.) and communication via the postal service starting September 1 of a prospect’s junior year. • In men’s ice hockey, coaches may send electronic communication (texts, email, Twitter direct message, Facebook messenger, etc.) and communication via the postal service starting January 1 of a prospect’s sophomore year. While we are not permitted to communicate electronically or via the postal service with high school students if they are not eligible per the above restriction, high school students can always make a telephone call to a coach as long as the call is initiated by the prospect and is at the prospect’s expense.
