Niki Rybko joined the Harvard sports medicine staff prior to the 2011-12 academic year. She works with the Harvard and Radcliffe heavyweight and lightweight crews.

Rybko came to Harvard from Brandeis, where she was one of three certified athletic trainers on a staff covering 21 varsity teams. She assisted with the care, rehabilitation and prevention of injury for more than 300 athletes. Her other responsibilities during seven years at Brandeis included serving as a teaching assistant and creating a strength and conditioning training program for softball, men’s soccer, women’s volleyball and women’s basketball.

Since January 2006, Rybko has also served as an adjunct professor in the Lasell College CAATE Athletic Training Present Education Program. She has taught a variety of courses in athletic training and injury care and has been a member of the Lasell Athletic Training Advisory Committee.

Rybko previously worked for two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Massachusetts. She was the primary athletic trainer for the men’s soccer and women’s lacrosse teams, supervised students and interns and lectured in introductory athletic training courses. She earned a master’s degree in exercise science from UMass Amherst in 2004.

Following her 2001 graduation from the University of Florida with a degree in exercise and sports science/athletic training, Rybo spent the 2001-02 academic year as an intern athletic trainer at Northwestern. She was the primary athletic trainer for the women’s volleyball and cheerleading teams while assisting with the football team.

As a student assistant at Florida from 1999 to 2001, Rybko worked with a number of teams, including the Gators women’s soccer and women’s volleyball squads.
