MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Harvard men's swimming and diving sophomore
Adam Wesson led a group of three divers on Monday by finishing in second place in the 1-meter event at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships in Morgantown, West Virginia.
A native of Morgan Hill, California, Wesson first secured a spot in the finals after he finished in first place in the preliminary round with a score of 349.45. He then went on to the championship round and finished with 702.00 score, trailing only Columbia's Jonathan Suckow (739.60). With his second-place performance Wesson punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships.
Junior
Luke Foster missed qualifying for nationals by one spot after he ended the competition in seventh place. After entering the finals with the 13
th-best preliminary score (298.80), Foster moved up the leaderboard and finished at 630.80.
First-year
Raphael Tourette, meanwhile, earned a finals berth after coming in 17
th in the prelims (289.20). The Cupertino, California product ended his first zone appearance in 13
th place with a score of 590.70.
The NCAA Zone A Diving Championships continue on Tuesday with 3-meter diving from The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown.
