Harvard Football's Brate, Collins, Dombrowski Named to Capital One Academic All-District I first team
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard football team has produced three selections on the Capital One Academic All-District first team, it was announced Thursday. The three players, junior tight end Cameron Brate, senior offensive guard John Collins and senior punter Jacob Dombrowski, are now eligible for Academic All-America honors.
Brate, an economics concentrator, is second among Ivy League tight ends (to teammate Kyle Juszczyk) with 35 receptions for 519 yards (14.8 ypc). He is third in the league with five touchdowns.
Collins, a government concentrator, has been the mainstay of an offensive line which ranks third nationally in scoring offense (42.4 points per game) and fourth nationally in total offense (507.8 yards per game). The Crimson hasn't scored fewer than 28 points in a game this season and has scored at least 30 points in each of its last seven road games dating back to the 2011 season.
Dombrowski, an economics concentrator, leads the Ivy League and ranks ninth nationally in punting at 43.2 yards per punt. Although his 30 punts are fewer than anyone else ranked among the nation's top 23 punters, Dombrowski has made the most of his opportunities, pinning eight inside the 20 yard line with 12 fair catches.
