Hodges, Brate Selected to The Sports Network FCS Preseason All-America Team

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Rising junior defensive end Zach Hodges and rising junior tight end continue to earn awards this summer, as the duo have been named to The Sports Network Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Preseason All-America team.

Brate and Hodges were both tabbed to the third team.

Hodges paced the Crimson with 16 tackles for a loss and nine sacks as a junior in 2012. A native of Atlanta, Ga., Hodges recorded 32 tackles overall on the year, including 23 solo stops. He was honored on the All-Ivy League first team and earned Ivy Defensive Player of the Year accolades by CollegeSportsMadness.

Brate amassed 592 receiving yards on 41 catches and had six touchdown receptions during his sophomore campaign. A Beyond Sports Network All-America second team pick, Brate was chosen to the Capital One Academic All-America first team last season and is a two-time All-Ancient Eight honoree.

Brate and Hodges were also recently named to the Beyond Sports Network Preseason All-America team. They were also tabbed to the FCS Tight End Award Watch List and FCS Defensive Lineman Award Watch List, respectively.
