Kaitlyn Perrelle to Assist Harvard Field Hockey

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard field hockey head coach Tjerk van Herwaarden has named Kaitlyn Perrelle an assistant coach. Perrelle joins the Crimson coaching staff after serving as an assistant field hockey and women's lacrosse coach for Lafayette College.

She helped coach the Lafayette field hockey team to its first Patriot League Championship since 2002 and an appearance in the NCAA play-in game last season. The Leopards led the conference with four first team All-Patriot League selections, including the Offensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, in addition to receiving one second team nod.  Two Leopards collected all-region accolades and nine were placed on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Perrelle was previously the head coach of the Walter Panas High School varsity team and an assistant for the Futures Field Hockey program.

A 2010 graduate of Princeton University, Perrelle started all 74 games she played in. She led the Tigers to four Ivy League championships and a Final Four appearance in 2009. Perrelle was a first team All-Ivy League selection in 2009 and garnered both Ivy League Rookie of the Year and second team All-Ivy honors in 2006. She was also a goalie on the women's lacrosse team.

Perrelle played on the USA Field Hockey U21 National Team from 2007-09 and won a gold medal in the 2008 Junior Pan-American games.
