The Harvard men's basketball team has taken home two straight Ivy League crowns (Drew Hallowell).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Harvard men's basketball team will be among a group of squads throughout the country that the CBS Network will air live during the NCAA tournament selection show, which will air beginning Sunday at 6 p.m. EST on CBS.
Harvard, which won the outright Ivy League title and boasts a 26-4 overall record, will be making the program's first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 1946. The Crimson went 12-2 in the Ivy League, posted an 11-1 mark at home and won the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas in November.
Led by head coach Tommy Amaker, the Crimson also earned the program's first national ranking, garnering a spot as high as No. 21 in th ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll and No. 22 in the AP poll during the season.
Junior forward Kyle Casey, who received All-Ivy League first team honors, paces the Crimson with 11.3 points per game, while senior forward Keith Wright and junior guard Brandyn Curry were tabbed to the All-Ivy second team.
