Harvard will make a 10-day trip to Italy Aug. 19-29 (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s basketball team will get a jump start on the 2012-13 campaign, as the Crimson will travel to Italy for a foreign tour trip Aug. 19-29. The training trip includes stops in Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan.
NCAA regulations allow teams to make foreign trips once every four years. While in Italy, Harvard will play four games against Italian club teams. The Crimson will play Rieti in Rome Aug. 22, Pallacanestro Firenze in Florence Aug. 24, Bassano Basket in Bassano Del Grappa Aug. 25 and Paffoni Omegna in Milan Aug. 27.
In addition to these games, Harvard will have the opportunity to tour the historic sites of the cities, such as the Collosseum, Vatican City, canals of Venice and the Accademia in Florence.
