Hamel was named to the NABC Honors Court after helping the Crimson to a third straight Ivy League championships (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rising senior Tom Hamel was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court on Monday, a distinction which reflects excellence in the classroom during the 2012-13 season. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must have been either a junior or senior academically and had maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Hamel, a government concentrator, has helped the Crimson to three straight Ivy League titles and back-to-back postseason appearances. Harvard posted a 20-10 overall record this past season, including an 11-3 record in the Ivy League, and earned the program's first ever win in the NCAA Tournament with a 68-62 upset of third-seeded New Mexico.
