Malcolm Howard '05 Named Honorable Mention Rowing News Male Athlete of the Year

Former Harvard rower and Olympic gold medalist Malcolm Howard
’05 earned honorable mention Rowing News Male Athlete of the
Year.
Malcolm earned a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics as a part
of the Canadian eight. The following year he helped the Canadian
eight, a crew that was not expected to be good in 2009, to a silver
medal at the world championships.
In the January edition of Rowing News, Ed Winchester
wrote, “Howard’s career has long been marked by
success, from his days as a standout junior at Brentwood College to
his role in the engine room of the national champion Harvard
varsity eight. But it’s as a member of Canada’s senior
team that Howard has truly come into his own.”
