National Championships Sunday: Three Harvard Varsity Eights Look for IRA Titles

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Three Harvard University varsity eight crews will have the opportunity for national titles at The 111th IRA National Championships Sunday. Harvard's men's heavyweights, men's lightweights and women's lightweights will be in action on Lake Natoma with all the racing viewable live at http://d3cast.com/rowing/ beginning at 8 a.m. PST (11 a.m. EST).

Harvard is looking to become the first school to sweep both the men's heavyweight and lightweight varsity eight races since 2003, when the Crimson was double winners. Princeton is the only other institution to have accomplished the feat, coming in 1998. Harvard has never won all three IRA championships in the same year and last won both the men's and women's lightweight titles in 1997.
