CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard heavyweight coxed fours went one-two at the Foot of the Charles over the weekend.
The varsity fours outpaced 33 other boats in the competition hosted by Harvard on the Charles River. Harvard "B" finished the race in 13:27.4, while the Crimson "A" squad crossed the finish line in 12:32.4 to place second overall. Northeastern came in third with a time of 13:37.2.
Harvard also placed 13th (14:21.8), 14th (14:25.2), 22nd (14:57.6) and 23rd (15:00.0) in the event. The Crimson was the only squad to have six boats in the four competition and nine crews overall.
In the freshman eights event, Harvard cruised to victory, finishing over five seconds ahead of second-place Brown and over a minute ahead of third place. The Crimson crossed in 12:56.1, while the Bears finished with a time of 13:01.9. Harvard novices also ranked seventh with a time of 15:57.6.
