The Harvard heavyweight and lightweight crew programs dedicated
its newest boat, a Resolute, to long time Crimson Boatwright
Everett Abbott in a ceremony Friday afternoon at the Newell
Boathouse. Abbott worked with Harry Parker, the Stone Family Head
Coach for Harvard Crew, and Charley Butt from 1986-1998 as a boat
builder.
Abbott retired from Harvard in 1998 after 12 years of service to
the Crimson rowing teams. He went on to work at Resolute as a
consultant, which he continues to do at the ripe old age of 85.
