Harvard Lightweight Crew's Two Boats Combine for Second Place at Green Monster Regatta

HANOVER, N.H. – The Harvard lightweight crew finished in second place at the Green Monster regatta on the Connecticut River Saturday afternoon. The Crimson had one boat finish in fourth-place and another in sixth of the event that calls for crews to enter two evenly matched novice groups.
Harvard's best boat completed the three-mile course in 15:16, four seconds behind first-place Trinity. The route featured a straight map allowing boats a chance at a clean run with no turns.
The Crimson's sixth-place boat raced to a 15:38 time, while Harvard also had boats in the 13th and 19th spots. Harvard's 'C' crew rowed the three miles in 16:29 and the fourth group had a 18:09 finish.
Harvard's combined time of 30:24 fell behind Trinity's mark of 30:27 earning the Crimson second place of eight participating teams.
The Green Monster was the Crimson's third fall regatta of a four-event slate. Harvard culminates the 2012 portion of its season at the Foot of the Charles Nov. 17 on its home course.
