Sophomore Tommasso di Robilant went 8-1 Wednesday to lead the Crimson's foil squad (Harvard Athletic Communications).
WALTHAM, Mass. – For the fourth time in its four-year existence, the Beanpot title went to the No. 2 Harvard men's fencing team, who defeated local rivals Boston College, Brandeis and MIT in Waltham, Mass., Wednesday.
The Crimson topped Boston College, 19-8, beat host Brandeis, 20-7, and won, 19-8, over Cambridge rival MIT to hoist the trophy for the fourth consecutive year. Junior co-captain Valentin Staller went undefeated (9-0) in the three bouts to anchor a sabre squad that went 22-5 on the day in leading Harvard. Sophomore Tommasso di Robilant went 8-1 in the foil event and classmate Thomas Kolasa was 7-2 in sabre.
The Crimson will now prepare for the NCAA Northeast Regional, set for March 13 at a site to be determined.
