No. 5 Men’s Fencing Takes Home Three Medals at NCAA Regionals
The fifth-ranked Harvard men’s fencing team saw three of its fencers capture medal at the 2014 NCAA Northeast Regionals hosted by Wellesley College Sunday. Foil fencers Michael Woo and Brian Kaneshige captured silver and bronze, respectively, while sabre fencer Alexander Ryjik claimed bronze.

Fencing Teams Head to NCAA Regionals
The Harvard men’s and women’s fencing teams, who rank sixth and third in the nation, respectively, head to Wellesley, Mass., Sunday, March 9 to compete in the 2014 NCAA Northeast Regional hosted by Wellesley College. Bids to the NCAA Championships are on the line as 19 Crimson take the strip at 9 a.m.

Eldeib, Mageras Medal at Junior Olympics, van Loon Earns Spot on US Junior Epee Squad
Alexander Eldeib and Stephen Mageras of the No. 6 Harvard men’s fencing team captured their first Junior Olympics medal this weekend as the Crimson freshmen took home gold and silver, respectively. The No. 3 Harvard women’s fencing team was also represented at the event as sophomore Nina van Loon earned her spot on the U.S. Junior epee team.

For the seventh time in its existence in as many years, the Beanpot title went to the No. 6 Harvard men’s fencing team, who defeated local rivals Boston College, MIT and Brandeis at duPont Gymnasium Wednesday night.

No. 5 Men’s Fencing to Compete at St. John’s Invitational
The No. 5 Harvard men’s fencing team will compete for the first time in 2014 at the St. John’s Invitational in Queens, N.Y., Sunday, Jan. 26. The Crimson will face No. 1 Columbia, No. 4 Notre Dame, No. 6 Ohio State, No. 2 Penn State and No. 7 St. John’s on the strip. Fencing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Taffner Field House.

Three Men's Fencers Take Strip at Udine Junior World Cup, Woo Wins Bronze
Foil fencer Michael Woo earned his second Junior World Cup medal on Sunday, Jan. 5 at the Udine Junior World Cup as the Harvard men’s fencing sophomore won bronze. Fellow foil fencer Stephen Mageras finished in the top-15 while Jerry Chang rounded out the three Crimson competitors. The trio helped the U.S. squad earn a team gold medal.

Five Fencers Compete at December North American Cup
Over the weekend, five members of the Harvard fencing teams competed at the December North American Cup. The second 2013-14 North American Cup of the year featured over 1,000 athletes from across the United States and Canada and acts as a key qualifier for both the 2014 Senior and Junior World Championships. Four fencers represented the Crimson men while Nina van Loon was the lone competitor from Harvard’s women’s squad.

Chang Brings Back Bronze from Eden Cup
Jerry Chang captured his first Junior World Cup medal on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Eden Cup as the Harvard men’s fencing sophomore took home bronze. Classmate Michael Woo finished in the top-10 while freshman Stephen Mageras rounded out the Crimson competitors with a 40th-place finish.

Ten Harvard Fencers Compete at USA Fencing North American Cup, Chang Captures Gold
A total of ten Harvard fences took to the strip at the USA Fencing November North American Cup, Nov. 8-11. The event, which is a key qualifier for both the 2014 Senior and Junior World Championships, featured the best fencers on the continent, including over 1,000 athletes, and marked the first 2013-14 North American Cup of the year.
