OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Harvard men’s golf team won its second tournament of the season with a dominating performance at the Caves Valley Spring Intercollegiate. The Crimson topped a nine-team field with a two-round score of 595 (294-301) to win by 13 strokes over the second place squad from George Washington.
Harvard set the tone early and was the only school with a sub-300 round. Penn (609), Princeton (612) and Yale (612) rounded out the top five finishers.
Mark Pollak shot the lowest first round score with a -1 round of 70 while Greg Shuman came in one shot behind. Pollak finished with a second round of 73 to finish third overall at 143 while Shuman finished at 145.
Danny Mayer (81-81-162), John Christensen (78-76-154) and Mike Shore (75-78-153) rounded out Harvard’s entry.
Harvard is back in action this weekend at the Ivy League Championships at the Atlantic City Country Club in Northfield, N.J.
