Harvard's Seiji Liu Named Freshman To Watch By Golfweek

Harvard's freshman golfer Seiji Liu has been named as a Freshman to Watch By Golfweek Magazine. One of just 20 newcomers nationally to be so recognized, Liu is coming off a summer in which he competed in the prestigious Canon Cup, pitting the best high schoolers from the East and West in a weeklong competition.

On the women’s side, Bonnie Hu was also named a Freshman to Watch, making Harvard one of just seven teams nationally to have a player named to both the men’s and women’s freshmen lists.

Liu was named an HP Junior Academic All-American in 2008 and 2009 and owns seven career AJGA Top-10 Finishes and 12 Top-15 Finishes (including 2nd at 2008 AJGA Mayakoba Classic and 3rd at 2009 AJGA Las Vegas Junior). He ended his Junior career ranked 38th Overall in the Country by Golfweek/Titleist National Rankings and #12 in the Class of 2010 with a power rating of 71.94.

A valedictorian of The Pendleton School and recipient of the Carpe Diem Award, Liu became the second Harvard players in as many seasons to play in the Cannon Cup, following 2010 Ivy league Rookie of the Year Katie Sylvan on the women’s side.
