BOSTON—Ted Donato ’91, the Robert D. Ziff ’88 Head Coach for Men’s Ice Hockey, his fellow men’s Beanpot coaches put aside all rivalries and united at Boston University’s Agganis Arena Wednesday to raise awareness for United Way in its effort to ensure more youth have the opportunities they need to build successful futures.
Forty thousand youth in the region are expected to drop out of school in the next four years, cutting off their chances at long-term stability and success. United Way is working to unite the region to give, advocate or volunteer to help keep young people engaged in school and graduating with options for the future.
Donato, Northeastern’s Greg Cronin, Boston University’s Jack Parker and Boston College’s Jerry York took part in a Live United photo shoot, which celebrates the community’s ability to come together to drive change. Prints from the shoot will appear throughout the region this winter. New England Patriot Jerod Mayo, 2009 Miss Massachusetts Amanda Kelly and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino have also been featured in the Live United campaign.
