CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Sophomore defenseman Danny Biega has been named to the All-Ivy League first team, and junior forward Alex Killorn has been selected to the All-Ivy second team, the league announced Thursday.
With four goals and seven assists in 10 Ivy games, Biega tied for the Ivy scoring lead and logged four more points than the runner-up in Ivy defenseman scoring. He shared the Ivy lead with two game-winning goals, including the tie-breaker in the third period of Harvard’s 4-3 win at Cornell Feb. 18. Biega leads the Crimson in overall points (25) and assists (15).
It is the sixth time in the last nine seasons that a Harvard defenseman has earned one of the two All-Ivy first-team spots. The Crimson’s last All-Ivy defenseman was Alex Biega ’10, Danny’s older brother, a first-team pick in 2008-09 and honorable mention selection in 2007-08 and 2009-10.
Killorn tied for sixth in Ivy scoring with 10 points (3-7-10), one off the league lead. He scored the tying goal and added two assists in Harvard’s 4-4 draw with Princeton Feb. 11 and netted two goals at Cornell. Killorn leads the Crimson with 13 overall goals and has 24 total points.
