CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Senior Alex Killorn and freshman Colin Blackwell of the Harvard men’s hockey team have been named ECAC Hockey Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the league announced Tuesday.
Both players scored twice last week, with Killorn adding two assists and Blackwell notching one helper. They helped the Crimson come back from four goals down to defeat New Hampshire, 7-6, Tuesday and tie Dartmouth, 3-3, Friday.
Killorn earned the second selection as Player of the Week in his career. He helped get the Crimson’s rally started against the Wildcats by scoring two second-period goals. In between his scores, Killorn intercepted a UNH clearing attempt and passed to Alex Fallstrom for a one-timer goal, helping the Crimson turn a 4-0 deficit after one period to a 5-4 margin after two.
At Dartmouth, Killorn passed to Fallstrom for another one-timer goal. With 10 points on five goals and five assists through eight games, The Montreal native is tied for 19th nationally with 0.62 goals per game and for 22nd with 1.25 points per game. In ECAC play, he is tied for fifth in the league in points (seven) and sixth in goals (three).
Blackwell scored the tying and go-ahead goals in the third period of the comeback win against New Hampshire. He tied the score at 5-5 at 6:51 of the period and gave Harvard a 6-5 lead about five minutes later, before Harvard added an empty-net goal and New Hampshire scored in the waning seconds.
The rookie from North Andover, Mass., recorded the first assist of his career on Luke Greiner’s tying goal at Dartmouth. He has four points on three goals and an assist this season.
