CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Senior forward Alex Killorn has been named ECAC Hockey Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading the Harvard men’s hockey team to a weekend sweep of Yale and Brown.
Killorn scored three goals, including two third-period game-winners, to help the Crimson beat the Bulldogs, 4-3, and the Bears, 3-1, to climb into the top four in the ECAC Hockey standings. His second goal of Friday’s game against Yale came with 79 seconds left, breaking a 3-3 tie. He also scored to tie the game early in the second period and poured 10 shots on goal.
The Montreal native and Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick then scored to break a 1-1 deadlock with less than eight minutes remaining Saturday against Brown.
Killorn leads Harvard with 26 points and 14 goals. He ranks 12th nationally with 1.30 points per game and eighth with 0.70 goals per game. He was previously named ECAC Hockey Player of the Week Nov. 28, after totaling two goals and two assists in a win and tie, respectively, against New Hampshire and Dartmouth.
The Crimson (6-6-8, 5-4-6 ECAC Hockey, 3-2-1 Ivy League) hosts Dartmouth Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Bright Hockey Center.
