Strong Week Helps Everson Earn ECAC Player of the Week Honors
Marshall Everson has scored at least one goal in his last
four games (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a week that saw the Harvard
men’s hockey team pick up two wins and three valuable league
points, senior forward Marshall Everson was named ECAC Hockey
Player of Week, the league announced Tuesday. The award is
Harvard’s fifth weekly league award this season and first
Player of the Week nod.
Everson scored five goals in three games last week. He netted a pair of goals in a 7-4 upset of No. 11/13 Boston University in the Beanpot consolation game and then made it two straight games with two goals, scoring a pair in a 4-1 win over Colgate, including the game-winning tally. He struck for third straight game in a 2-2 tie with Cornell. Everson finished the week rated +3 and is now tied for the team lead in goals on the season with 10. He enters the penultimate weekend of ECAC regular season action riding a four-game point streak, one shy of his career best stretch.
The Crimson makes the long trip to the North Country this weekend to take on St. Lawrence Friday and Clarkson Saturday.
