Cohen Named Among Best Freshmen by Inside Lacrosse
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard attacker Jeff
Cohen continues to be recognized for his stellar rookie season, as
he was recently tabbed to Inside Lacrosse’s list of Best
Freshmen of 2009. Cohen was one of three attackers named to the
All-Freshman team.
A native of Syosset, N.Y., Cohen led the Crimson with 34 goals and
41 points and was honored as the New England Intercollegiate
Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Rookie of the Year. He also garnered
Ivy League honorable mention and was a three-time Ivy Rookie of the
Week, as well as a two-time NEILA Player of the Week.
Cohen’s 34 goals this spring rank ninth on Harvard’s
all-time single-season list and placed him seventh in the nation
with 2.62 tallies per game. He led the Crimson with five man-up
scores and six hat tricks and tied for the team lead with three
game-winning tallies. On April 18, Cohen netted a career-best six
goals against Holy Cross, the most for a Harvard scorer since the
2007 season.
