Geist, Duboe Named to Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America Team

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Defender Billy Geist and
midfielder Jason Duboe of the Harvard men’s lacrosse team
have been tabbed to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason
All-America team, the publication announced Monday afternoon. The
players, both seniors, garnered spots on the honorable mention
squad.
Geist, a co-captain of the Crimson from Arnold, Md., was an
All-Ivy League honorable mention choice last season after
collecting 20 ground balls and causing 11 turnovers. He started all
13 games at defense in 2009, grabbing a season-high four ground
balls in Harvard’s 11-4 victory over Holy Cross April 18.
Geist helped the Crimson rank third in the nation in scoring
defense, allowing only 6.69 goals per game.
Duboe, a native of Long Grove, Ill., who is making is second
appearance on the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America
honorable mention team, stood second on Harvard with 19 points on
11 goals and eight assists last spring. He amassed a season-high
five points on two goals and three assists in a win over archrival
Yale April 25 and tallied three man-up goals during his junior
season. Duboe, who was named to the Tewaaraton Watch List last
season, earned a spot on the All-Ivy League second team in 2009
after garnering first-team status in 2008. Duboe was also honored
on the NEILA All-New England first team for his effort last year
and was an Academic All-Ivy choice as a sophomore.
Harvard was recently ranked 12th in the LaxNews preseason
national poll and will open its season by hosting Canisius
Saturday, Feb. 27.
