CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s lacrosse team has been ranked 12th in the 2010 Inside Lacrosse preseason national poll, the publication announced this week. The Crimson, which also earned a No. 12 ranking in the LaxNews preseason poll and appears 14th in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) ranking, is one of four Ivy League schools to appear in the Inside Lacrosse poll.

Harvard, which reached as high as No. 11 in the nation during last season, opens its 2010 campaign by hosting Canisius at Cumnock Turf Saturday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. The Crimson returns 27 players from last year’s team, which finished 8-5 overall and went 3-3 in Ivy League contests. Under John Tillman, The Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men’s Lacrosse, the Crimson welcomed the nation’s third best recruiting class to campus this season, according to Inside Lacrosse.

The Crimson will face six teams ranked in the Inside Lacrosse preseason poll this spring, including No. 2 Duke (April 2), No. 6 Cornell (April 10), No. 7 Princeton (April 24), No. 13 Georgetown (March 3), No. 15 Brown (March 20) and No. 17 Massachusetts (March 13).
