CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s
lacrosse team has been ranked 12th in the 2010 Inside
Lacrosse preseason national poll, the publication announced
this week. The Crimson, which also earned a No. 12 ranking in the
LaxNews preseason poll and appears 14th in the United
States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) ranking, is one
of four Ivy League schools to appear in the Inside
Lacrosse poll.
Harvard, which reached as high as No. 11 in the nation during last
season, opens its 2010 campaign by hosting Canisius at Cumnock Turf
Saturday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. The Crimson returns 27 players from
last year’s team, which finished 8-5 overall and went 3-3 in
Ivy League contests. Under John Tillman, The Frisbie Family Head
Coach for Harvard Men’s Lacrosse, the Crimson welcomed the
nation’s third best recruiting class to campus this season,
according to Inside Lacrosse.
The Crimson will face six teams ranked in the Inside Lacrosse
preseason poll this spring, including No. 2 Duke (April 2), No. 6
Cornell (April 10), No. 7 Princeton (April 24), No. 13 Georgetown
(March 3), No. 15 Brown (March 20) and No. 17 Massachusetts (March
13).
