The Particulars
No. 11 Harvard opens a stretch of four straight home games by
hosting Colgate at Cumnock Turf. The Crimson owns a 3-1 record
after defeating Massachusetts, March 13, while the Raiders are 1-4
after dropping a game to Holy Cross the same day. After
hosting the Raiders, Harvard will welcome in succession Brown March
20, Dartmouth March 27, and Duke April 2

Series History
Harvard owns a perfect 6-0 record in the all-time series against
Colgate. The Crimson last played the Raiders in 2003,
defeating its opponent by a score of 8-2 in Hamilton, N.Y.
National Recognition
Harvard is ranked 11 in the Inside Lacrosse national poll,
13th in the LaxNews poll and 14th in the United States
Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association ranking.
On the Sidelines
John Tillman, the Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men’s
Lacrosse, is in his third season at the helm of the Crimson.
He owns a 17-14 record during his stint at Harvard and has helped
the Crimson reach as high as No. 11 in the national polls, coming
during the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
Last Time Out
The Crimson earned a key non-conference victory on the road,
topping then-No. 18 Massachusetts, 14-13, Saturday. Terry
White paced the Harvard offense with a career-day, scoring three
goals and adding an assist, while Dean Gibbons notched two goals
and dished out three assists to tie a career-high with five
points. Daniel DiMaria collected a career-best eight ground
balls, while Harry Krieger earned his second win in goal, stopping
13 shots, also a career-high.
Fast Start
The Crimson is looking for its third straight 4-1 start to a season
under John Tillman, the Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard
Men’s Lacrosse. Tillman, who is in his third season on
the Crimson sideline, has guided the team to a 17-14 record during
his tenure.
Possession Is The Name Of The Game
After its first four games, Harvard has won 58-of-103 faceoffs
(.563), with 32 of those victories credited to Andrew Parchman. The
Crimson has collected a total of 120 ground balls and has been
successful on 71-of-91 clear attempts (.780). Daniel DiMaria has
grabbed 16 ground balls to
lead the squad.
Bay State Champion
With its 14-13 win at UMass, Harvard has defeated the two other
Division I lacrosse programs in Massachusetts. The
Crimson also earned a 9-7 win at Holy Cross March 6.
It’s All Over
Harvard is 3-0 when leading a game after three quarters this
spring.
Leading the Way
Dean Gibbons paces the Crimson with 12 goals, and 18 points, while
Jeff Cohen is second with 10 goals and 12 points. Gibbons
also leads the team with six assists, while Cohen has netted three
man-up goals, the most on the team.
When The Game Is On the Line
Terry White, Kevin Vaughan and Christian Oberbeck have notched
Harvard’s game-winning tallies this spring.
To The Nines
Harvard has won 34 of its last 42 games in which it has scored nine
or more goals. The Crimson has lost 38 of its last 46 games in
which it has scored fewer than nine goals.
Strength Of Schedule
Six of Harvard’s 12 regular-season games are against schools
ranked in this week’s Nike/Inside Lacrosse Men’s
Division I poll. The Crimson is currently 1-1 against ranked
opponents this season after beating then-No. 18 Massachusetts,
14-13, March 13, and falling at then-No. 14 Georgetown, 13-12,
March 3.
Road Trip
Harvard will play six games away from home this spring. The
Crimson has four road games left, including contests at
Massachusetts March 13, Cornell April 10, Penn April 17 and Yale
May 1. The Crimson is 1-1 away from home this year, picking up a
win at Holy Cross March 6.
Duboe Is All Class
Senior midfielder Jason Duboe has named a candidate for the
prestigious Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. Duboe is among
20 candidates for the award for displaying both on-field and
off-field excellence. To be eligible for the award, a
student-athlete must be a senior and have notable achievements in
four areas of excellence: classroom, character, community and
competition.
Welcome To The Show
Head coach John Tillman welcomed the third best recruiting class in
the nation to Cambridge this year, according to the InsideLacrosse
incoming class rankings. The class ranked first in the Ivy League
and included six players listed in the publication’s Power
100 newcomers from around the country.
It’s Good To Be Home
Harvard will play six games at home this season, including at least
four at Harvard Stadium (Brown March 20, Dartmouth March 27, Duke
April 2 and Princeton April 24). The Crimson, which was 4-2
at home last season, is 1-0 on home turf this spring.
