Gibbons, White Earn Preseason All-America Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior co-captain Dean Gibbons and junior Terry White of the Harvard men's lacrosse team have been named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America team, garnering honorable mention status.
Gibbons, an attacker from Garden City, N.Y., earned United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America honorable mention accolades and was tabbed to the All-Ivy League and all New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England second team last season. He led Harvard and was second in the Ancient Eight with 41 points, to go along with 14 assists and six man-up goals, while ranking second on the team and fifth in the Ivy League with 27 tallies. He is a two-time All-Ivy choice, garnering honorable mention as a sophomore in 2009.
White, a midfielder, received All-Ivy League and NEILA All-New England second-team honors in 2010. A native of Summit, N.J., White scored 13 goals and handed out six assists for 19 points and appeared in all 12 games for the Crimson. White also collected 12 ground balls and caused four turnovers and scored the game-winning goal against Holy Cross March 6.
Harvard, which is ranked 16th in the 2011 LaxNews Preseason poll, completed its 2010 season 6-6 overall. The Crimson will enter 2011 under Chris Wojcik, the Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men's Lacrosse, who is beginning his first season at the helm.
