CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After scoring a total of 10 goals in two games last week, Harvard senior attackman Jeff Cohen has been tabbed the Ivy League Co-Player of the Week. Cohen, a native of Syosset, N.Y., shares the honor with Princeton’s Jeff Froccaro.
Cohen tallied five goals, including two man-up scores, in an 11-8 loss at No. 14/15 Duke March 12. Cohen also fired 12 shots, including eight on target, grabbed two ground balls and caused a turnover.
In Harvard’s Ivy League opener against Brown March 17, Cohen, who has recorded five straight hat tricks, scored five goals for the second consecutive game in the Crimson’s 10-9 overtime win against the Bears. With the game tied, 9-9, Cohen netted the game-winning goal at 2:19 of overtime, helping the Crimson improve to 1-0 in the Ivy League and 3-3 overall.
With 23 goals this spring, Cohen has moved into fourth on Harvard’s career list with 117 tallies. He also leads the Ivy League with his 23 goals and 3.83 scores per game, while standing fourth with 4.33 points per contest.
