Three Crimson were included among the preseason rankings of New England's top lacrosse players (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) released its Preseason All-NEILA team Monday which included Daniel Eipp, Alex White and preseason rookie of the Year, Devin Dwyer.
Eipp, the 2011 NEILA Rookie of the Year and a two-time All-Ivy League selection, is coming off a year in which he ranked second on the team in points (42), goals (24) and assists (18). His 3.00 points per game were good for fourth in the Ivy League while he ranked seventh in both goals per game (1.71) and assists per game (1.29). The junior connected on 34.3 percent of his shots taken and this summer won a gold medal playing for the U.S. Under-19 Men's National Team at the Lacrosse World Championships in Finland.
White, a senior who has seen action in 41 of the Crimson's 42 games over the last three years, posted five goals and 19 ground balls a year ago while playing out of the midfield. The Summit, N.J. native set career-highs for points (14), goals (8) and assists (6) in his sophomore campaign after registering six goals and six assists for 12 points as a freshman.
Dwyer was ranked as the No. 4 recruit in the class of 2016 by Inside Lacrosse this summer after leading Garden City to an undefeated season, a No. 1 ranking by Inside Lacrosse and a Class B NYS Championship in 2012. Dwyer was chosen as the US Lacrosse National Player of the Year following the season and also earned All-America honors as a sophomore, junior and senior.
Harvard will open its 2013 campaign this Saturday, Feb. 23 when it hosts No. 7/5 UMass at 1 p.m. at Soldiers Field Lacrosse Stadium.
