CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Andre Akpan, a senior
forward on the Harvard men’s soccer team, has been listed as
a contender for the Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy,
presented to the nation’s top collegiate player, by
ESPNsoccernet.
Akpan, who earned a similar distinction last fall from ESPN.com,

after being named to the National Soccer Coaches Association
Hermann Trophy Watch List and to the College Soccer News and Soccer
America Preseason All-America teams.
A two-time semifinalist for the Hermann Trophy, Akpan enters his
senior season at Harvard as the program’s all-time leading

and third with 35 goals. A co-captain of the Crimson this fall, he
is a three-time All-Ivy League selection and was the conference
