Akpan Honored on College Soccer News National Team of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- After scoring the
game-winning goal in No. 11 Harvard's 2-1 win over No. 21 Dartmouth
Saturday afternoon, senior forward Andre Akpan has been named to
the College Soccer News National Team of the week for the
second time this season, the publication announced Monday
morning.
Akpan, who leads Harvard with four game-winning goals this fall,
broke a 1-1 tie in the 63rd minute with his 11th goal of the
year. A native of Grand Prairie, Texas, he leads the Crimson
in goals and points with 27 and is now two goals shy of tying
Harvard's career goal record (47), held by Chris Ohiri '64.
With a 3-1-1 Ivy League record, Akpan and the Crimson stand first
in the Ivy League with 10 points. Harvard visits Columbia
Saturday at 4 p.m., before hosting Penn in the regular-season
finale Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m.
