CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A pair of Harvard soccer alumni have found success in the professional ranks recently. Mike Fucito '09 and Andre Akpan '10 had big weeks for their respective clubs.
Fucito of the Seattle Sounders FC scored two short-handed goals during a 4-1 win against Comunicaciones Aug. 16 in CONCACAF Champions League play. In six career Champions League matches over two seasons, Fucito has tallied five goals and an assist.
"I'm just trying to make the most of my opportunities," Fucito told soundersfc.com. "Just doing what I can to help the team when given the opportunity."
Akpan had a first half assist before scoring the game winning goal to lead the Colorado Rapids to a 3-2 win over Metapán Aug. 17.
