CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Marked by 10 home games on Harvard's campus, the men's soccer team has revealed its schedule for the 2017 campaign. Each one of Harvard's home games will be broadcast on the Ivy League Network.
The 2017 campaign opens at home against Xavier on Friday, Sept. 1 at Ohiri Field and continues away at UMass-Lowell the following Monday. The Crimson travels to Rhode Island for a clash against Providence on Saturday, Sept. 9 before hosting cross-town foe Northeastern at Jordan Field on Wednesday, Sept. 13.
The Crimson next treks around the New England area, competing at Boston University Saturday, Sept. 16 and Rhode Island Tuesday, Sept. 19. Albany travels to Cambridge for a match on Sunday, Sept. 24 to begin a two-game homestand, with Vermont kicking off at Jordan Field two days later.
Ivy League play begins Saturday, Sept. 30, as the Crimson travels to New Haven for a contest against Yale. Harvard pauses its Ivy League campaign to welcome New Hampshire to Cambridge on Tuesday, Oct. 3 before resuming in Ithaca for their first road Ancient Eight game, against Cornell.
Harvard begins a four-game homestand as it welcomes Boston College to campus Tuesday, Oct. 10 for the final non-conference game of the season. The Crimson welcomes three Ivy League foes to Jordan Field in a row, as it faces Brown on Saturday, Oct. 14, Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 21 and Dartmouth on Saturday, Oct. 28.
The Crimson heads to Columbia to close the road slate on Sunday, Nov. 5, and puts a cap on the regular season when it hosts Penn on Senior Night, Saturday, Nov. 11.
The Crimson won 10 games in 2016, and returns four of its five top scorers from a year ago. Sophomore Matthew Glass and junior Christian Sady tallied 11 points a year ago, while Eric Gylling, who was named the team's captain for 2017, netted a trio of game-winning goals.
