No. 5 Men's Squash Closes Out Home Schedule, Falls to No. 4 Princeton

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- In its final home match of the season, the fifth-ranked Harvard men's squash team suffered a 7-2 loss to No. 4 Princeton Sunday afternoon at the Barnaby Courts.  The Crimson falls to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in the Ivy League, while the Tigers move to 9-2 and 5-1 in the Ancient Eight. 

Harvard claimed victories in the top two positions, led by a 3-1 win by Colin West against Todd Harrity at the No. 1 slot.  West took the first two games, 11-7 and 12-10, before falling in the third, 11-5.  West took control in game four, clinching the match, 11-9.  At the No. 2 spot, Richard Hill lost his first game against Christopher Callis, 11-8, but took the next two games by 11-7 scores to take a 2-1 lead.  Hill then outplayed Callis, 11-5, in the fourth game to pick up the win.

In the closest match of the day, Harvard's Alexander Ma battled back from a 2-0 deficit in games (11-8, 11-9) against Nikhil Seth to win the third and fourth sets, 11-8 and 11-9.  Seth, however, took control in the fifth and decisive game, 11-9, to emerge with the victory.

The Crimson will now close out the regular season by visiting archrival Yale Saturday, Feb. 13. The match against the Bulldogs will get underway at 1 p.m. Harvard will then have a week off before competing at the College Squash Association team championships Feb. 19-21 in New Haven, Conn.
