No. 4 Men's Squash Stumbles at No. 3 Yale in Regular Season Finale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Ali Farag won in the No. 1 positon to cap off the regular season undefeated, but the No. 4 Harvard men's squash team fell at No. 3 Yale, 5-4, Sunday afternoon.

The loss dropped Harvard (14-3, 5-2 Ivy League), which won 14 matches for the first time since the 1999-2000 season, to a third-place finish in the Ivy League.

Farag won his eighth match of the season by beating Kenneth Cha, 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-3), as the freshman was one of two Harvard starters to sweep. Jason Michas also won by a 3-0 tally, taking down Eric Caine, 3-0 (11-8, 11-9, 11-7), in the No. 9 spot.

Harvard's other two wins came in the No. 4 and No. 8 positions. Gary Power won a deciding fifth game, 11-9, to beat Ryan Dowd, 3-2, at No. 4. Zeke Scherl dropped his first game, 9-11, before sweeping the next three to get past Joseph Roberts, 3-1.

The Crimson culminates the team season next weekend with the College Squash Association Men's Team Championship Feb. 17-19 in Princeton, N.J.
