No. 2 Men's Squash Blanks No. 13 Penn, 9-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 2 Harvard men's squash team shutout Ivy League foe No. 13 Penn, 9-0 at the Murr Center on Sunday afternoon.

In the sweep, Harvard took eight of the nine matches by a 3-0 margin and the last match 3-1 to remain undefeated in the Ivy League while Penn falls to 1-1 in the Ivy League. The Crimson is now 7-0 in 2013-14, while Penn owns a 4-1 record.

Ali Farag knocked off Liam Quinn in the No. 1 position, 11-1, 11-6, 11-5 to own a 5-0 record on the season. Brandon McLaughlin surrendered the few points on the day, allowing six in an 11-1, 11-1, 11-4 win over Tyler Odell in the second position.

In the seventh spot, Nicholas Hopcroft jumped out to a 2-0 lead over George Lemmon before dropping the third match.  Hopcroft was able to regain the momentum in the fourth match to pick up his sixth win of the season.

Harvard returns to action Jan. 25-26 when the Crimson welcome St. Lawrence, Rochester and the University of Toronto to the Murr Center.
