Five Crimson reached the finals at the Texas Invitational (Gil Talbot).
AUSTIN, Texas – The Harvard men's diving team competed at the Texas Invitational over the weekend, placing a total of five divers in the finals.
The meet began on Thursday with the one-meter dive where freshman George Doran placed fifth with a final score of 290.35. Doran advanced to the finals with a preliminary round score of 249.75. Senior Michael Stanton and sophomore Joe Zarrella tied for seventh with 273.65 points in the finals. Stanton advanced through the prelims with a score of 298.20, the fourth best total in the prelims, while Doran made it through with a 249.75.
On Friday the trio competed in the three meter with Zarrella and Stanton each advancing to the finals. Zarrella turned in a finals score of 330.40 to place fifth while Stanton's point total of 298.40 was good for seventh. Zarrella and Stanton advanced to the finals with scores of 313.50 and 307.95 in the prelims, respectively.
Among those teams competing in the diving portion of the Texas Invitational were No. 2 Texas, Hawaii, Houston, TCU and Wisconsin.
