Men's Swimming Takes to the Pool at AT&T Winter National Championships

McIntee reached the finals in the 400 free to lead the Crimson at the AT&T Winter National Championships (Gil Talbot).

ATLANTA, Ga. – Nine members of the Harvard men's swimming team competed at the 2011 AT&T Winter National Championships over the weekend, turning in several strong performances.

Kyle McIntee paced the Crimson with a 10th-place finish in the C finals of the 400 free, turning in a time of 4:07.61. McIntee reached the finals by posting a time of 4:01.36 in the prelims where he was joined by Spenser Goodman (42nd, 4:03.47), Reed Snyder (67th, 4:08.37) and Michael Gaudiani (75th, 4:11.26).

Greg Roop swam to a 34th-place finish in the 1,500 free with a time of 16:20.40. Reed Snyder finished 42nd in the event in 16:28.23 and was followed by Gaudiani who placed 47th in 16:47.79.

Freshman Chuck Katis led Harvard in both the 200 IM and 200 breast. Katis turned in a time of 2:07.39 to take 50th in the 200 IM and returned to the pool to place 44th in the 200 breast in 2:21.70.

Harvard returns to the pool Dec. 10 at Columbia in Ivy League competition.
