Harvard Opens Dual Season at Home with Three Matches

The Particulars:
Harvard welcomes Brigham Young, DePaul and Mississippi
State to participate in the Harvard Kick-Off Tournament. Matches
start at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Last Time Out:
The Crimson competed in the Viriginia Tech Tournament,
Jan. 22-24. Sophomore Davis Mangham, rookies Christo Schultz and
Tchan each posted two wins in singles action. All eight Harvard
players recorded at least one victory over the weekend.
About Harvard:
The Crimson opens up the dual portion of the schedule
this weekend. Freshman Andy Nguyen leads the way with eight wins in
singles play. Senior captain Michael Hayes is close behind with
seven victories under his belt.
About the Cougars:
Brigham Young owns a 2-0 record coming into the weekend,
having defeated Weber State and Utah State, 7-0 each. Thomas
Shubert leads the team with a 17-1 record.
About the Blue Demons:
DePaul boasts a 3-0 record on the season, downing
Illinois-Chicago, Chicago and Nothern Illinois in dual matches.
Mathias Hambach and Matija Palinic pace the squad with 12 wins
apiece.
About the Bulldogs:
Mississippi State began the spring season at the SEC
Indoor Championships and then was edged by Ole Miss in the River
Hills Cup, 4-3. Louis Cant owns a team-best 15-4 record.

A Pair that a Full House Can’t Beat:
Sophomore Alistair Felton and freshman Andy Nguyen have
teamed up to win eight doubles matches this season. The
pair won six matches at the ITA Northeast Regionat tournament in
October, en route to capturing the doubles title.

Harvard will travel to New Haven, Conn. for the ECAC
Championships, Feb. 12-15.
