    Dave Fish and Andrew Rueb Earn ITA Northeast Region Coaches of the Year Honors Harvard men’s tennis head coach and assistant coach Davie Fish and Andrew Rueb have been honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as the Northeast region head coach and assistant coach of the year, respectively. This is the third time Fish has received the award while Rueb is a first-time recipient.

    Harvard Men’s Tennis Announces 2012-13 Team Captains Fresh off one of the most successful seasons in school history which saw the Crimson accrue the second-best record in school history (23-3), the Harvard men’s tennis team announced the captains for the 2012-13 season. Rising sophomore and junior, Casey MacMaster and Andy Nguyen will lead the Harvard next season.

    No. 24 Harvard Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 12 Florida, 4-0 The magical season for No. 24 Harvard men’s tennis came to an end on Saturday afternoon when it fell to No. 12 Florida in Gainesville, Fla. The Crimson got inspired play from its doubles teams of sophomore Casey MacMaster and senior Alistair Felton, and senior Jon Pearlman and sophomore Christo Schultz who fought hard for the doubles point but it wasn’t enough as Harvard concludes 2012 with the second best record in school history (23-3).

    Singles Play Gets it Done for No. 24 Harvard; Crimson Advances to Second Round of NCAA Tournament The No. 23 Harvard men’s tennis lost team the doubles points but used three singles wins and a late medical forfeit to advance to the second round of the 2012 NCAA men’s tennis tournament at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville, Fla., Saturday morning. The match was once again clinched by the efforts of freshman Denis Nguyen who out lasted his opponent in the third set to help to lead the Crimson to the postseason victory.

    Pearlman, Nguyen, MacMaster and Felton Earn All-Ivy Accolades On the heels of an already successful campaign that saw the No. 23 Harvard men’s tennis team clinch its 29th Ivy League title, the squad had even more reason to celebrate on Thursday, as four Crimson players received All-Ivy League honors. Senior Jon Pearlman was named All-Ivy League first team while freshman Denis Nguyen was named second team All-Ivy League. The doubles team of senior Alistair Felton and Casey MacMaster also received conference recognition as the duo was named to the All-Ivy League doubles team.

Harvard will head to Gainesville, Fla. next week to face No. 45 Virginia Tech on May 12 with the match slated for 9 a.m.

No. 23 Harvard Men’s Tennis Earns 29th Ancient Eight Championship in Program History With Harvard entrenched in a 3-3 tie against Dartmouth with the Ivy League title on the line, freshman Denis Nguyen won the final two sets to secure Harvard’s 29th Ancient Eight championship in program history. The Crimson entered the contest needing a victory to clinch the title outright, and got just that as Jon Pearlman, Nguyen, Shaun Chaudhuri and Alex Steinroeder all tallied victories as Harvard edged Dartmouth, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at the Beren Tennis Center.

In the championship match, it was freshman Alex Steinroeder’s victory that was the deciding point out of the No. 5 spot to help the Crimson to improve to 13-1 this season.
