NEW YORK - The Harvard men's volleyball team dropped a close 3-2 match to NYU Saturday afternoon at the Coles Sports Center. Sophomore Matt Jones led three Crimson players in double digit kills with 26. Senior Erik Kuld added 24 kills while classmate Soren Rosier tallied 13.

Freshman Rob Lothman handed out a season-high 67 assists and also tallied five block assists, also good for a season-high.

Harvard and NYU traded set victories, with the Crimson winning the first and third sets. The match saw 45 ties and 14 lead changes, including 24 ties and eight lead changes in the fourth set, which saw the score end at 38-36 in favor of the home team. In the fifth set, the Crimson rallied back from an early three point deficit to tie the score at 6-6, but the Violets capitalized on kills and Harvard attack errors to claim a 15-11 win.

Harvard returns home for its final two regular season matches next weekend, hosting Sacred Heart, April 16, and NJIT, April 17.
