HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Harvard men's volleyball team fell to Juniata, 3-0, in Saturday night's season opener at the Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center. The Eagles won by set scores of 30-22, 30-23, 30-27 to improve to 1-1 on the season.
Senior Erik Kuld led the Crimson with 12 kills, while sophomore Matt Jones added 10. Freshman Rob Lothman handed out 33 assists and added four kills. Freshman Derek Jansma had a team-high nine digs on the night. Sophomore Nicola Ivica helped the Crimson defense with five blocks and also added six kills.
Both Harvard and Juniata recorded 39 kills on the night, but the Eagles held the advantage in blocks with 9.0 compared to Harvard's 6.5.
Harvard faces the Red Flash of St. Francis (Pa.) Jan. 23 at 1 p.m.
