LORETTO, Pa. - The Harvard men's volleyball team fell to No. 15 St. Francis (Pa.) in four sets on Sunday afternoon at the DeGol Arena. Sophomore Matt Jones led all players with 17 kills in the 3-1 (30-20, 30-32, 30-24, 31-29) loss.
After falling in the first set, the Crimson (0-2) bounced back in the second, winning, 32-30, but the team was unable to keep the momentum going in the next two sets.
Freshman Rob Lothman recorded 47 of the Crimson's 50 assists and also had seven digs and three blocks. Every Crimson player recorded at least two digs, as Lothman, Jones, freshman Derek Jansma and sophomore Dan Schreff led the way with seven apiece.
The Red Flash (6-1) had a slight 43-40 advantage in digs while the Crimson held the edge in kills, 52-50.
The Crimson next travels to Beverly, Mass. to take on Endicott, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m.
